Mrs Marie-Claire Richer

Marie-Claire Richer is the director of the Transition Support Office at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC) in Montréal, Québec, Canada. She is leading the organizational transition as the MUHC is preparing to undergo a major redevelopment project that will generate the relocation and reorganization of six hospital sites into three. This transition will involve the reorganisation, consolidation, optimisation and transformation of a multitude of clinical and support services. Mrs.Richer holds a doctorate in nursing from McGill University and is also an assistant professor and joint coordinator of the Centre de formation et expertise en administration des services infirmiers (FERASI) program at the McGill University School of nursing. Her doctorate work looked at the impact of an appreciative inquiry intervention on the emergence of innovative ideas and the improvement of work environment in health care. Her research interests focus on organisational transition, change management and the emergence of innovation in a complex system. Mrs.Richer’s professional experience is diversified and includes clinical work, management and teaching.
