Mrs Vasanthi Srinivasan

Vasanthi Srinivasan is assistant deputy minister at the Health System Strategy Division, at the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long‐Term Care (MOHLTC). Previously, Mrs Srinivasan was appointed Director of Health System Planning and Research Branch at the MOHLTC in April 2007. She joined the Provincial Government on an executive interchange from Health Canada as Director of Population Health Policy and Planning and Women’s Health Branch. Mrs Srinivasan holds a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa and has considerable experience in policy and research. She has served at the federal and international levels in key social policy areas such as health, immigration, seniors, aboriginal and women’s issues. She was given the Head of the Public Service Award for her work on the Metropolis Project established to conduct policy research on immigrant integration in cities, lead by Canada and involving 18 countries. During her tenure in the Privy Council Office of Canada, she was seconded to the United Kingdom Cabinet Office in the Performance and Innovation Unit where she contributed to a white paper on immigrant policy and created the Strategic Futures Group that led horizontal policy development for the United Kingdom.
